Terms, privacy and returns

This page is written to be read. If any part of it is unclear, that is a fault in the page and worth telling us about.

Not ready to publish. The seller of record and the governing jurisdiction are both blank, and neither may be invented. Fill SELLER_OF_RECORD and GOVERNING_LAW in site_content.py, then have this page read by somebody qualified in that jurisdiction.

Who you are buying from

The seller of record is not set. Nobody may invent it, and no order may be taken until it is filled in.

Returns

Printed books. Every paperback is manufactured after you order it, so there is no shelf to put a returned copy back on. A book that arrives damaged, misprinted, mis-bound or wrong is replaced or refunded in full, and we do not ask for it back. Photograph the fault and write to us.

Ebooks and audiobooks. A downloaded file cannot be un-downloaded. If a file will not open, is the wrong book, or is defective, it is refunded in full.

Statutory rights in your own country apply on top of everything above and are never reduced by it. In the European Union and the United Kingdom that includes a right to cancel; asking for a digital download to start immediately can waive it, and any checkout that asks you to waive it will say so plainly at the moment it asks.

What we keep about you

The intention of this shop is to hold as little as it can:

No account. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to delete.
No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, no cross-site cookies, no ad network.
Your basket lives in your own browser and nowhere else. It is a list of book codes and quantities; it holds no prices, no titles and nothing about you, and closing the tab does not send it anywhere.
A printed order needs a name, a postal address and — because the press require one for delivery — a telephone number. Those go to the printer to make and post the book, and are used for nothing else.
Card details are handled by the payment processor and never reach this site.

You can ask what is held about you, and ask for it to be deleted.

Confirm against the real checkout and the real printer's data agreement before publishing. Until the shop can take a payment, this section describes an intention, not a system.

Copyright

One deliberate exception, stated in the front of every book: if you bought the book, the worksheets and scripts inside are yours to copy and reuse for your own life, as often as you like. A worksheet you may not photocopy is not a worksheet.

What these books are not

These are plain-language guides, not professional advice. They give no medical, legal, tax or financial advice, and they name no dose, threshold, deadline or legal rule as fact. Where something needs a doctor, a lawyer or an accountant, every book says so and stops.

If you are in danger, or someone you care for is, contact your local emergency service. No book is the right thing to be reading at that moment.
